What We Offer
What We Offer
Out clinicians use an integrative approach of CBT, person-centered and DBT to meet each client's individual
CBT
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that is effective for a variety of problems such as anxiety, depression, alcohol and substance use, relational problems and more. CBT focuses primarily on the present and examines the relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. CBT believes that problems stem from maladaptive ways of thinking and unhelpful behaviors. This approach begins with increasing one’s self-awareness and learning/implementing skills to then create change.
Person-Centered
Person-Centered
The person-centered approach utilizes an empathetic approach to motivate and empower the client. Person-centered therapists believe that the client has the desire and the ability to grow.
DBT
DBT
Similar to CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a skills based-approach in the field. DBT was originally developed to treat Borderline Personality Disorder; however, research has found that DBT is effective for additional psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, PTSD and alcohol and substance abuse. DBT can be broken down into four main categories that are used to help create change: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
